The PS5 has many new and improved features over the PS4. For example, it records a short video whenever you get a new trophy, while the PS4 only took a screenshot. Some Demon’s Souls players discovered that it also captures whatever you happen to shout at the moment.
A video was posted by Reddit user helloiamjack, a newcomer to the Souls series, shows them beating the Tower Knight boss. Turn up the volume, so you can hear their vocal celebration.
You can hear the player mashing the buttons of the DualSense controller, as well as shouting and laughing in relief for a few long seconds. Demon’s Souls, one of the launch titles for the PS5, is a remake of a game well-known for its difficulty. No wonder they got so excited after beating the boss. That’s a well-earned victory shout.
But helloiamjack is not alone. SCOUSETOMO2003, another Redittor, posted a video of their own. You can see (and hear) them finally beating a different Demon’s Souls boss after 15 attempts. Good for them!
The PlayStation 5 managed to capture these moments because the DualSense’s microphone turns on by default during multiplayer. Be sure to change that in the settings if you don’t the console to record you (and other people to hear you while you play).
The remake of Demon’s Souls for PS5 was developed by Bluepoint Games. The studio is responsible for many other remakes on the PS4, like Gravity Rush Remastered, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Shadow of The Colossus and many more.
Recently, a rumor surfaced about how Sony is planning to acquire Bluepoint Games after the release of Demon’s Souls. The studio has a fantastic history on Son’y platform, with a lot of potential for creating new and exciting IPs as well as even more memorable remasters.
Demon’s Souls is currently available exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
