Scorn gameplay video is beautiful and disgusting at the same time

Ebb Software and Xbox Game Studios have release a new Scorn gameplay video, captured on Xbox Series X.

Scorn is a first-person survival horror game set in a dark, fleshy world inspired by the works of HR Giger. With this (second) gameplay trailer, we get to see about 14 minutes of pulsating environments and weirdly cute enemies; if you consider lumpy, faceless abominations cute.

This isn’t the first time we see Scorn running on Xbox Series X. We got a short trailer when the developer announced Scorn would be an Xbox Series X exclusive launch title.

The game looks amazing running on the next-gen console. You can really sense how wet and gross all the organic material is. The way your gun writhes around every time you reload it or switch loadout is also a nice (and really disgusting) touch.

The pacing looks perfect for a survival horror title. There aren’t many enemies swarming you, and you’re left to explore the dark corridors by yourself. The game does feature combat, but it’s a slow affair, and ammo or health doesn’t seem to be so plentiful.

Scorn is coming to Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC in 2021. It will also be available through Xbox Game Pass.
