Little Nightmares 2, the sequel to the creepy platformer Little Nightmares, finally got a proper gameplay trailer, and I probably won’t be able to sleep tonight.
The game looks as disturbing as they game, with new terrifying enemies, distorted environments, and eerie music – the full horror game package.
In Little Nightmares 2, you play as Mono, a young boy trapped in a world that has been distorted by the humming transmission of a distant tower.
Six, the little protagonist of the first game, is there to accompany you through this nightmarish world. While I initially thought that meant the game would support two-player co-op, apparently Six will be computer-controlled. So you’ll still face the horrors alone.
You will work together with Six to solve puzzles, disable traps, and discover the dark secrets of The Signal Tower that’s corrupting the world and its inhabitants through TV screens.
Speaking of inhabitants, Little Nightmares 2 brings brand new Residents to run away from. You’ll face the sadistic Teacher, the woman with the very flexible neck we see playing the piano; hide from the hooded, bloodthirsty Hunter; and flee from a Slanderman-like figure.
The trailer shows a few other creatures that are surly not very friendly towards Mono and Six. Those mannequins are especially unnerving.
Little Nightmares 2 is coming to haunt your dreams on February 11, 2021, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X later in 2021. Those who already own it will enjoy a free upgrade to next-gen consoles.
