Atomic Heart, the Soviet BioShock, gets a hectic 4K gameplay video

Mundfish, the developer of Atomic Heart, has released another gameplay video for their upcoming action title. This one is in glorious 4K, unlike the previous Atomic Heart gameplay videos we saw.

We can already see some huge improvements made to the game. First off – there’s actual UI on the screen, showing our character’s health and energy levels. We can also see a stamina system in action, where sprinting and using melee attacks slowly tire you out.

Most of this Atomic Heart gameplay video focuses on melee combat. We see the protagonist uses a new melee weapon called “Star” (Zvezdochka) to smash little flower-looking enemies, as well as a mustachioed android.

Later in the video, we can see how the Star gets its name – you can charge it up and launch two electrified blades at your enemies to deal continuous damage. It appears to be especially handy during a mini-boss fight against a weird viny creature that kind of looks like the Phantoms from Prey.

There is more we can learn from this 4K gameplay video, like how you can hack machines to help you in a fight, and perhaps more about the story (if only I could speak Russin). But I’ll let you watch the video and see for yourselves.

Atomic Heart is currently in development for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.
