Publisher Raw Fury and indie game studio Out of the Blue have officially announced Call of the Sea – an “otherworldly first-person adventure puzzle game.”

Set on an isolated tropical island in the 1930s, Call of the Sea casts you as Norah, a woman who has crossed the ocean in a desperate search for her husband Harry, that has gone missing. We get a glimpse of what might have happened to Harry right at the end of the announcement trailer.

Call of the Sea is a Lovecraftian inspired adventure game, so the fishy arms you see at the end of the trailer probably belong to a Deep One. If that is, in fact, Harry, he might be one of those Deep One Hybrids – humans who transform into Deep Ones as they get older. Or they could belong to some other unearthly creature.

But the game isn’t about Harry; it’s about Norah’s journey to find him, which slowly turns in to one of self-discovery. Developer Out of the Blue promises an “otherworldly tale of mystery” full of suspense, emotion, and surreal moments. Leading this tale is Cissy Jones as the voice of Norah. You might know her as Delilah from Firewatch.

As Norah, you explore the island’s colorful and vibrant environments and uncover the ruins of a lost civilization, full of puzzles and occult mysteries. You will solve puzzles and reveal clues, and bit by bit reveal the fate of her husband’s ill-fated expedition. Hopefully, he did not turn into a Deep One.

Call of the Sea comes to Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC in late 2020. For more info about this adventure game, you can check out the official website.
