Bounty Battle is what happens when Super Smash Bros. meets Brawlhalla.

France based developers Dark Screen Games has teamed up with publisher Merge Games to bring us this 1-4 player beat-’em-up with characters from all over the Indie World.

What is Bounty Battle, anyway? For starters, it’s a 2D brawler, largely inspired by the Super Smash Bros. series, that features many indie heroes. The roster includes characters from over 20 indie titles, such as Darkest Dungeon, Guacamelee!, Owlboy, Dead Cells, and others.

In the game’s story mode, an unknown event created huge vortexes connecting different worlds. Champions from each world are imbued with magical powers and start fighting for domination over the entire multiverse. The heroes all have bounties on their heads, and the one who collects the most will be crowned the Master of the Universe.

Apart from the story mode, 4 players can fight in local and online multiplayer modes, tournament mode, and practice mode. Each fighter has a unique move set, including a special move and a minion they can summon to join the fight.

Just choose your favorite indie character and hit your opponents until they lose all their health or get kicked out of the arena.

The 10+ arenas are designed after the different games the fighters come from. You’ll have multiple colors and palette swap options. Customization is always a nice thing to have.

Bounty Battle looks fast, chaotic, and colorful. Hopefully, it can match up to the high standards Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has set.

The ultimate indie brawler was first announced in 2017 as a PC release for 2020. But Nintendo’s recent Indie World showcase reveals that it will be available for Nintendo Switch as well. In fact, Bounty Battle is coming to all consoles. Bounty Battle will be released in summer 2020 for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
