VirtuaVerse is a cyberpunk adventure developed by the creative collective Theta Division and published by the record label Blood Music.

According to a very important statement from the game’s protagonist, VirtuaVerse will be released on May 12. Go on if you want to see a few scenes from the game – they sure look cool.

In VirtuaVerse, you play as Nathan, an outsider still refusing to comply with the new world order. He doesn’t want to bow down to his AI overlords, and instead spends his days selling illegal hardware and cracked software.

He is also among the last humans capable of switching off their AR headsets and see reality for what it really is.

When Nathan’s girlfriend Jay, a talented AR graffiti writer, goes missing, he finds himself tangled up in an unexpected journey involving Jay’s hacker group and a guild of AR Technomancers.

VirtuaVerse is cyberpunk to its core. Not only do the visuals scream “dystopian future,” the game’s description over at its Steam page includes words like Technomancers, AR graffiti writers, Cryptoshamans, cyberwars, and “virtual reality debauchery.”

I don’t know about you, but VirtuaVerse had me at “virtual reality debauchery.”

If you’re interested to learn more about the game, and the people making it, there are a few places you can go. First, check out VirtuaVerse’s official site. you can also follow the developers of Twitter. They are composer and “retrocomputing mastermind” Master Boot Record, modder and programmer Elder0010, and pixel artist Valenberg.

Once again – VirtuaVerse is coming to PC, Mac, and Linux on May 12.
