Chicken Police – Paint it Red is a hard-boiled (get it?) detective game where two chickens try and solve a film-noir inspired mystery.
The game combines a visual novel’s dialogue system with classic adventure game elements and a complex interrogation. It also has a singing cat and a horse that’s also a bartender (which I’m sure is a great setup for a joke).
Chicken Police – Paint it RED tells a dark story inspired by the classic film-noir movies of the 1940s. It’s gritty, grim, and full of cynical humor – like any good detective story.
You play as Sonny Featherland and Marty MacChicken, aka the “Chicken Police.” The two were once a legendary detective-duo, but are now nothing more than a couple of washed-up wannabes. But when they stumble on a bizarre new case, the two will have a chance to redeem themselves.
Sonny and Marty will go on a journey through the ever-changing city of Clawville, where they will face their past and avoid being eaten alive. Explore the city’s lifelike 3D backgrounds, meet its weird animal-hybrid denizens, and ruffle their feathers (or fur).

You’ll have more than 30 characters to interrogate using clues, evidence, and sensitive personal information you’ve collected. Plus, there are lots of optional content and background lore to discover.
Chicken Police is already one step ahead in the race for the “weirdest game of 2020” award, which secures it a place on my wishlist. You can wishlist the game on Steam if you have a soft spot for detective games and chickens.
Chicken Police – Paint it Red will be available in 2020 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
