WolfEye, the new indie studio made up of ex-Arkane devs, is partnering with Devolver Digital to release their first game – Weird West.
Weird West is an action RPG set in an alternate version of the western frontier. It’s an even darker reimagining of the Wild West, where gunslingers share the land with spirits and fantastical creatures.
“Journey through the origin stories of a group of atypical heroes, written into legend by the decisions you make in an unforgiving land,” reads the official description. “Each journey is unique and tailored to the actions taken – a series of high stakes stories where everything counts and the world reacts to the choices you make.”
You play as a bounty hunter who sets out into the “otherworldly confines of the Weird West” to make a name for themselves. You’ll explore, fight, and solve supernatural mysteries by yourself or with a full posse by your side.
The studio promised to reveal its first game during the ceremony when it released a teaser image last month. We figured the game will be a supernatural western, and it appears we got it right.
We don’t have a lot to go on right now, apart from the reveal trailer and a few screenshots. There’s no release date and no information on which platforms Weird West will be available.
Probably PC and Switch, and perhaps Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 also.
