Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines is destined to live forever thanks to its modding community and their unofficial patches.

The latest example is VTMB Prelude, a new episodic mod that tells the tale that led to Bloodline’s story. It’s an unofficial prequel that got the support of Paradox Interactive, publisher of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2.

VTMB Prelude was developed by modders Wesp5, EntenSchreck and Hareishan. For now, they released only the first chapter of the prelude. We still don’t know how many chapters there will be in total.

In this first chapter, you play as a human hunter from the Leopold Society, an ancient organization specialized in hunting supernatural beings. The modders said that in the rest of the chapters you will play as a vampire instead, suggesting the rest of VTMB Prelude is coming soon.

Despite being a 15-year-old game, Vampire: The Masquerade keeps getting new content from the community. The most famous mod for the game is the Unofficial Patch that became an essential mod for everyone who wants to play the original game today. It’s worth mentioning that Wesp5, one of the creators of VTMB Prelude is the same person behind the famous patch.

With Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 coming in late 2020, fans are coming back to the original. If you too plan on playing Bloodlines 1 while you wait, you should embrace the Unofficial Patch. It’s the best way to enjoy an already excellent game, and you can expect even more new content in the near future.
