Annapurna Interactive, who is slowly but surely becoming one of my favorite indie publishers, has announced If Found – an interactive coming-of-age visual novel.
It’s a bit difficult to tell from the game’s teaser trailer, but If Found is a “compelling and intense exploration of family, community, connection, and isolation.” The book you see is the diary of Kasio, a young girl with a rebellious and creative soul.
Kasio decides to destroy her diary on New Year’s Eve, and that’s where we come in. To discover her story and uncover her secrets, we must erase her words and her memories.
Through the vivid illustrations of Liadh Young and the honest story created by Llaura Ash McGee, we will explore Kasio’s version of West Ireland in 1990s. We’ll move into an abandoned mansion, hang around with a punk band, destroy the universe, and find out who Kasio is and who she can be.
Everything is accompanied by an electric soundtrack by 2mello and Eli Rainsberry, with various licensed music tracks by other Irish artists.
If Found is developed with the help of dreamfeel, a small indie studio based in Dublin, Ireland, and will be published by Annapurna Interactive in 2020 on PC, iOS, and Android.
