Joel Jonsson and Michael Paixao, both former developers at MachineGames, have banded together with 8 senior AAA devs to form Bad Yolk.
Together, they share 90+ years of experience and have worked on 14 AAA title. These include Wolfenstein: The New Order, Doom 2016, Chronicles of Riddick, Eve Online, Gears of War, The Division, The Darkness, and others.
The Swedish indie studio is a “forward-thinking video game studio” that aims to create the “greatest, most creative and technically superior games possible” while maintaining a happy work-life balance for all its employees.
Bad Yolk is already working on their first IP, though they aren’t ready to share any details at this point.
“After years of working with some extremely talented people on some really great projects we felt it was time to branch out on our own to create a new kind of studio,” Paixao said. “Obviously high-quality video games should be fun to play, but we also believe that they should be fun to make and that creativity thrives best in a healthy and balanced work environment, which is a central pillar of our corporate message and structure.”
