Respawn Entertainment is going to “fix” the lightsabers in Jedi: Fallen Order after fans criticized their color and glow.
After watching the Jedi: Fallen Order official gameplay walkthrough, Star Wars fans claimed Cal’s saber lacks the bright white core lightsabers usually have. I don’t really see it, but then again I’m not that big of a fan myself. Judge for yourself in the gameplay video below.
“We made a mistake on that one, and since then we’ve fixed it,” game director Stig Asmussen said during an episode of The Game Informer Show. “That was very fair feedback, fair criticism. We’ve tweaked that, and we’ve also tweaked the shape of the lightsaber blade a little. You can see the difference right away.”
So there you have it – lighters will be brighter and more vibrant in the game’s final version. However, the new and improved lightsaber still won’t cut off limbs, though, so if you’re hoping for more gore in your Star Wars game, you’d be slightly disappointed.
Hopefully, Respawn’s decision will please most fans and will help the game feel a little more like it belongs to the Star Wars canon.
Jedi: Fallen Order is coming out November 15 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
