After nearly 20 updates and patches, the final version of Hunt: Showdown will finally be available on August 27. The multiplayer horror-action bounty hunting title will first launch on PC and Xbox One, with a PlayStation 4 version arriving later this fall.
As a “thank you” to the dedicated community that helped shape Hunt: Showdown during its year and a half in Early Access, everyone who purchased the game during that time will receive an exclusive Legendary Weapon skin.

“Developing a game alongside such a passionate community has been so rewarding. It has taken us in new directions, and really inspired us to put everything we have into Hunt,” said Lead Hunt Producer Fatih Özbayram. “Now the time has come for the full release, and we couldn’t be more excited. We won’t forget the support this community has given us.”
Hunt: Showdown is a first-person survival shooter, with both PvE and PvP elements. Groups of two hunters roam the Louisiana swamps, fighting off monsters and other players, in search for a demon to kill and claim its bounty. Once someone has taken a bounty, they become the new target for all other hunters – and that’s when the real action starts. With everyone after you, it’s crucial you remember that death is permanent, so if your character dies while on the hunt, you’ll need to start a new one.
The game first launched in Early Access in February 2018. During that time, the game got more enemies, a lot more weapons, a new boss, an additional map, multiple times of day to play in, and Quick Play mode. In Quick Play, ten hunters fight to the death for a chance to keep their character, plus a big ol’ pile of gold. It’s like a sneaky Battle Royale with fewer players.
Hunt: Showdown will be officially out on August 27 for PC and Xbox One. The game is currently 25% off on Steam.
