A new game in the Watch Dogs series was announced during Ubisoft’s E3 2019 press conference – Watch Dogs Legion.
Watch Dogs Legion takes place in the not-so-distant future, in the dreary streets of post-Brexit London. The people are oppressed and often caged like animals by private military companies that surveil everyone using an army of mercenaries, cameras, and drones. However, where there’s oppression, there’s also resistance. That resistance is DedSec, and DedSec and be anybody in the game.
In the game’s gameplay walkthrough video, we can see one operative trying to recruit a drone specialist. Members of the resistance can use their phone to gain information about every civilian they encounter, including buffs, weaknesses, and specialties. That way, you can decide which Londoner you want to recruit into your squad. Every old lady, street performer, hipster, or hooligan is a potential operative.
When our Jason Statham-sounding character finally finds someone who fits the bill, he is confronted with a choice: rescue them from getting arrested, or leave it and look for someone else. There isn’t just one drone specialist available in the game, so you don’t have to take unnecessary risks if you don’t want to. But of course, the player chooses to help the guy, and a firefight ensues which ends in our character’s death.

Death isn’t the end, though, and we immediately take control of a different DedSec operative someplace else in London. Attempting to recruit the specialist has unlocked a new mission, and the demo continues.
Recruiting new people is not all Watch Dogs Legion has to offer. Every single character is upgradable with unique and special abilities you can use to tailor them to your playstyle. You can assign them one of three different classes: Hacker, Infiltrator, and Enforcer, and arm them with lethal and non-lethal weapons.
You can play the game offline or cooperatively with up to three friends online. Explore the city together, and take part in challenging missions that will put you and your friends’ resistance to the test.
Watch Dogs Legion release date is on March 6, 2020, and it will be available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
