Actor Keanu Reeves, the One and the avengers of puppies, went on the Xbox E3 2019 stage to announce the official Cyberpunk 2077 release date.
Not only that, but the game’s new E3 trailer reveals that Reeves will play a character in the game. We’re not sure what his role in the story is going to be just yet, but we do know he is going to help us burn down Night City.
In the trailer, we see protagonist V – the male version this time – dealing with the consequences of a mission. It seems to be the same mission we saw in the first Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay video last year, but the outcome is a little bit different. This one, V and his partner Jackie didn’t make a clean getaway, and Jackie dies.
We continue to follow V back to the man who hired him for the job, witness a sudden betrayal, and meet up with Reeve’s character. Sadly, this is one of those cinematic trailers, so there’s no new gameplay. However, we do get to see an enemy character hacking V’s cybernetic implants, which is hopefully an ability we can unlock in-game. It looks really cool – almost like this RPG’s version of magic.
At the end of the trailer, we learn that Cyberpunk 2077 will release April 16, 2020, on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Not only that, but we can catch a glimpse of the game’s Collector’s Edition, which is already available to pre-order. The Cyberpunk 2077 Collector’s Edition includes a 25-cm /10-inch statue depicting V in action, a steelbook case, a hardcover art book, and more.
The Collector’s Edition comes in an impressive box made to look like one of the megabuildings towering over Night City. Take a look at it below.
