Big Bad Wolf, the studio behind the narrative adventure The Council, is working on a new Vampire: The Masquerade game narrative RPG.
Bigben Games has announced the game as part of BigBen Week, where the publisher revealed its upcoming catalog of games. You can see the official announcement in the tweet below.
“After a first foray into the ‘World of Darkness’ universe with ‘Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood,’ Bigben is proud to announce that its partnership with Paradox will be extended and that a game under the ‘Vampire: The Masquerade’ license is in development,” the press release stated. “Developed by Big Bad Wolf, creators of the episodic adventure game ‘The Council,’ the game aims to define a new genre: the narrative RPG, inspired by the rules of the tabletop RPG. The studio will share more information at Gamescom in August.”
It’s important to note that this new game isn’t linked in any way to Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. It’s just set in the same world and shares the same source material. Both will also extensively feature vampires, one assumes.
Bigben did not reveal many more details about the new Vampire: The Masquerade RPG. We do know the game won’t be episodic, unlike The Council, and will follow the rules set by the pen-and-paper RPG. This means we’ll see all the clans and disciplines make an appearance, so fans should be pretty happy.
However, those fans will have to wait at least two more years before they get to play Big Bad Wolf ‘s new RPG. But since the game will be at Gamescom this year, and so will we, we’ll do our best to bring you as much information about it as we can. Stay tuned.
