A Plague Tale: Innocence story trailer is about more than rats

A Plague Tale: Innocence by Asobo Studio gets a new story trailer that highlights the game’s tale of siblings Amicia and Hugo on the run from the Inquisition and the Black Death.

Their story begins in France, during the Hundred Years’ War. The De Rune family is living in relative comfort in its castle, while the plague starts taking its toll on the common population across Europe. However, Amicia and Hugo’s sheltered life are about to change forever.

For a reason we don’t yet know, the Inquisition is after young Hugo, so it is up to Amicia to keep him safe. The game’s story shows how the two escape the family house when the inquisitors arrive, and proceeds to give us a glimpse of the places and people they’ll encounter along the way – some helpful, and some terrifying.

Amicia and Hugo will have to rely on each other if they wish to survive in a world that continuously gets harsher, darker and with more and more rats.

A Plague Tale: Innocence arrives onPS4, Xbox One and PC on May 14.
