Team Cherry has announced Hollow Knight: Silksong, the sequel to their Metroidvania set in an ancient underground realm of bugs.

In Hollow Knight: Silksong, you play as the princess-protector of Hallownest, Hornet after she’s kidnapped and taken to an unfamiliar kingdom. There, you will fight over 150 new enemies using a new set of acrobatic moves, attacks, skills and tools.

Just like in the original Hollow Knight, Silksong takes place in a beautifully hand-drawn interconnected world. You will cross mossy grottos, coral forests and shining citadels on your way to the kingdom’s peak and “unravel the deadly thread that threatens this strange new land.”

Apart from the reveal trailer above, the game has an official site with very little info and a few screenshots. We posted the screens at the end of this short article, for your convenience.

Hollow Knight Silksong will be released on PC and Nintendo Switch, but there’s no release date as of yet. In even cooler news, everyone who backed the original game on Kickstarter will receive the sequel for free.

You can follow the Silksong’s development on the Team Cherry blog.
