Metro Exodus story trailer reveals the reason behind the exodus

Deep Silver and 4A Games have released the official story trailer for Metro Exodus. The next game in the series takes us out of the underground metro, and to the wide post-apocalyptic world above.

In the trailer, we can hear Anna, the Spartan Order’s top sniper and protagonist Artyom’s wife, yearning for the world that once was – to feel the sun on her face and grass beneath her feet. Maybe that’s the reason she and Arytom decide to leave the relative safety of the tunnels and go on a year-long journey into the unknown.

The trailer continues by showing us it might not be the only reason. Life in the metro is getting more and more violent, and the many factions continue to fight each other over resources, territory, and ideology. We see a few new characters that have a strong villain vibe to them, and that’s before the monsters come crawling out of the darkness.

It’s a compelling trailer, one that sets up the game perfectly and makes me want to play it even more. I love the Metro series, and from what I’ve seen and played so far, Metro Exodus is a strong entry.

Metro Exodus is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on February 15.
