It turns out Alien Blackout, a game we thought could be an Alien Isolation sequel, is a new mobile game developed by FoxNext Games, D3 Go!, and Rival Games.
The game does see the return of Amanda Ripley, and this time she’s not alone. She and her crew are stuck abroad a Weyland-Yutani space station with a deadly xenomorph. It’s up to you to guide the survivors to safety and keep them from becoming alien lunch or worse – a

Here’s the full description of the new alien mobile game, according to its official website:
“The terror of Alien is brought to life in ‘Alien: Blackout.’ Try to stay alive while trapped aboard a crippled Weyland-Yutani space station carrying a deadly Xenomorph as it tirelessly hunts you and the crew. Outsmart the perfect hunter by making perilous choices. Players must rely on the damaged controls of the space station or risk sacrificing crew members to avoid deadly contact, permanently altering the outcome of the game.
“Survive seven fear-inducing levels by remotely guiding Amanda Ripley’s crew through increasingly challenging tasks using only the station’s emergency systems. The uncertainty and unpredictability of both the alien and her crew can impose total defeat for Amanda and the entire station.”
As you can tell, you won’t be facing the aliens directly. Instead, you’ll be using holographic maps, surveillance cameras, and motion tracker to help the group through the levels.
It’s a neat idea for a mobile game, but I still wish we’d be getting a proper Alien Isolation sequel. There’s another Alien game in the works – a shooter by Cold Iron studios. I don’t think it’s related to Alien Isolation, but it could be fun. As long as it’s not another Alien: Colonial Marines.
