Devil’s Hunt, a new third-person action game by Layopi Games, wants you to go to Hell. Granted, we’ve been to Hell many times before, but for some reason, we always come back.

This time, we’re going to Hell as Desmond, a man with demonic powers who holds the fate of our world in his claws. A great battle between demons and angels is raging, and it’s to Desmond to decide which side of the conflict to support.

In the new Gamescom 2018 trailer, we only see Desmond fighting demons, but presumably, we’ll be able to kick some angelic butt if we choose to help the forces of Hell.

According to the game’s official description, we will eventually have to choose a side – Heaven or Hell. I don’t when if we’ll actually have a say in the matter, but I hope we do.

Combat is mostly (if not all) melee, with a variety of attacks and combos, and plenty of different enemies to trying them on. We can use a mix of demonic and human abilities to take down our enemies. There’s no information whether using your demonic skills will result in Desmond succumbing to his inner hellspawn, or if we can claw our way to victory without worrying about our immortal soul.

Devil’s Hunt is based on the hit Polish fantasy novel “Equilibrium” by author Paweł Leśniak. The previous game I’ve played that was based on a Polish novel was The Witcher 3, so Devil’s Hunt is in good company.

We’re hoping to bring you more details about this intriguing third-person action title during Gamescom 2018. Publisher 1C Company is bringing a hands-on demo to the convention, and we intend to play it.

Devil’s Hunt will be out on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2019. You can already wishlist the game on Steam if you want.
