Kojima Productions has released a trailer for Death Stranding during The Game Awards.
The trailer gives us an extended look at game, but doesn’t answer one simple question – what the hell is going on in Death Stranding.
As you can see, the video is a bit lengthier than the previous trailer, and tells us a little more about the game’s world. However, it is still impossible to tell what anything about the story, characters, enemies or gameplay.
Once Guillermo Del Toro was confirmed to appear at the event, it was pretty obvious both Kojima and the game will make some sort of an appearance. However, I was hoping to see some gameplay this time, not another very confusing trailer.
Still, what was shown looks pretty interesting. The invisible monsters that leave nothing by handprints behind are especially intriguing, also because people seem to prefer death than being taken away by them. This explosion the main character mentions at the end is also a big part of the mystery. And of course – there are the ever present babies.
Heck, pretty much everything about this trailer is captivating in a twisted kind of way. After watching it, I can’t wait to learn more about Death Stranding.
The game still doesn’t have a release date, but we know it’s a PlayStation 4 console exclusive, with a PC version confirmed for a later date. Hopefully we’ll go more info soon. Maybe at the PlayStation Experience conversion this weekend.
