Guillermo Del Toro, the director and part of the team that was supposed to make Silent Hills before Konami canceled it (yes, I’m still upset about that), will be presenting at the Game Awards on Thursday evening.
The announcement came through the show’s official twitter feed, but doesn’t mention what exactly Del Toro will be presenting. However, his inclusion in the event may have something to do with Hideo Kojima’s anticipated next project – Death Stranding.

Apart from handing out ‘Game of the Year” trophies, the Game Awards is mostly famous for its exclusive reveals and announcements. We already know Del Toro is involved in the game’s development, so it’s a great opportunity to show us some actual gameplay footage.
In last year’s show, we got a lengthy trailer for Death Stranding, with plenty of in-game footage but no gameplay. At least I think it wasn’t gameplay… it was really hard to tell what was going on there, but it involved both Guillermo Del Toro and Mads Mikkelsen.
The Game Awards will be streamed live across the internet on December 7, at 5:30 PM PST. If you don’t live on the West Coast, you can visit the official site to see exactly when that is where you live. There’s this really handy timezone chart.
