Du Lac & Fey: Dance Of Death is a new story-driven adventure game where you try to stop Jack the Ripper in Victorian London in the year 1888.

While this isn’t the first time we will be facing off against the Ripper in a video game, it will be the first time we’ll do it as a knight of the round table or a talking dog.

In Du Lac & Fey you play as the immortal knight Sir Lancelot Du Lac, and the sorceress Morgana Le Fey who is cursed to live in canine form. There’s also a third playable character – Mary Kelly, long believed to be the Ripper’s final victim.

Apart form the Whitechapel murders, there will be plenty of characters to meet and secrets to uncover. According to developer Salix Games, there’s a major focus on character interaction and relationships, as well as choices and exploration.

The game is currently on Kickstarter, where it is trying to raise £40,000 (roughly $53,000). At the time of writing, it already earned $21,000, with 16 more days to go.

Head over to the Kickstarter page to read more about it and its feature, and see pre-alpah footage. In the introductory video below, you can see a little bit of gameplay, and the game’s lovely art style. Then the video turns into the usual pitch from developers.

While I did let out an audible groan when the game’s tech director said he has “not see a story like this in video games”, Du Lac & Fey: Dance Of Death does look very interesting.

I’ll be keeping an eye out on this on myself, and if you’re at all into mystery point-and-click titles, I suggest you do the same.

Du Lac & Fey: Dance Of Death will be out in 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
