Blizzard has announced a new Overwatch hero, or should I say villain. Her name is Moira.
Moira O’Deorain is a support that can switch between dealing damage to her enemies, and heal her teammates. Her Biotic Grasp and Biotic Orbs attacks cover both short and long range, respectively. She can also use Fade to cover short distances quickly.
Her ultimate ability is Coalescence, which lets her fire an energy beam that simultaneously heal allies and damage enemies.
You can find a more detailed breakdown of her abilities in the video and text below.
Bioitic Grasp: Using her left hand, Moira expends biotic energy to heal allies in front of her. Her right hand fires a long-range beam weapon that saps enemies’ health, healing Moira and replenishing her biotic energy.
Biotic Orb: Launches a rebounding biotic sphere; she can choose between a regeneration effect that heals the allies it passes through, or a decay effect that deals damage to enemies.
Fade: Can quickly teleport a short distance to escape groups or remain close to allies in need of support.
Coalescence: Moira channels a long-range beam that both heals allies and bypasses barriers to damage her enemies.
If you’re interested in Moira’s back story, you can either read it on her official Overwatch profile, or watch yet another video, posted below. She is basically the entire Talon science division.
Right now, it’s unclear when Moira will be joining the game. However, she was playable at BlizzCon 2017 that took place this weekend, so we should see her on the PTR soon.
