Marvel’s Spider-Man made a short appearance on Sony’s stage during its Paris Gaming Week showcase. We got to see a new “teaser” trailer, though it was more of a full-size video that revealed quite a bit about the game.

First, we learn that the game takes place after Spider-Man takes down William Fisk, aka Kingpin. Thinking the worst is behind him, Peter Parker wants to give the Wall Crawler a little vacation and focus more on his own personal life. Oh, is he in for a rude awakening.

As we can clearly see in the trailer, Mister Negative has different plans for New York City. Explosions, shootouts and hostage situations soon follow and Spider-Man is once again the city’s only hope.

But the trailer isn’t all action. We see quite a few characters. Apart from Mary Jane and Martin Li (Mister Negative), we also see glimpses of Aunt May, Yuri Watanabe, The Shocker and Miles Morales – all we known players in the Spider-Man universe.

We also get to see a few sequences where it appears we’ll get to play as Mary Jane. It’s not quite clear what we’ll be doing as the red-haired tigress, but it seems to be a combination of stealth and investigation. We’re waiting to see more of that soon.
