Nintendo has dedicated an entire Showcase video to the upcoming Switch indie titles.
The video shows an impressive roster of games, all scheduled to be released between September 2017 and early 2018. Some of these Switch indie titles, which Nintendo calls “Nindies”, are already out on other platforms. Most of them, though, are brand new.
While all games look interesting, there were a few that stood out from the rest.
Super Meat Boy Forever is the sequel to Team Meat’s fan-favorite platformer. Just like the previous game, you’ll jump off walls, dodge buzz saws and try not to die horrible. This time, however, levels get harder every time you beat them, so technically the challenge never ends. There’s also a new control scheme, new ranking system and daily challenges.
Super Meat Boy Forever launches for Switch (but also PC, consoles and mobile) in 2018.
Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes is just in time to celebrate the franchise’s 10th anniversary. Travis Touchdown will once again fight over-the-top bosses with his beam katana, including a new character called The Bat. Fans would like to know that The Bat is actually the father of Bad Girl, one of the assassins we kill in the original No More Heroes. He doesn’t seem to like us all that much.
Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes is a Switch exclusive set to launch in 2018.
Nine Parchments is the new co-op game by Frozenbyte. You know, the people who brought us the beautiful Trine series. Nine Parchments is a “blast-’em-up” with local and online co-op for up to 4 players. You will battle strange creatures, wield powerful magic and wreak magical havoc together. Looks like a lot of fun.
Nine Parchments launches for the Switch (and PC, PS4 and Xbox One) this holiday season.
But wait – there’s more. More games I mean. The Switch indie Showcase was full of new and cool games. Games like Golf Story, Shovel Knight: King of Cards, Floor Kids and more.
The video below is a great sizzle reel, showing all the upcoming indie games you can expect on Nintendo Switch. Give it a watch and start updating your wishlist.
