Dishonored: Death of the Outsider tasks you with what it calls an “impossible mission” – to kill a god. Since we kill gods on a regular basis in video games, it doesn’t seem all that impossible. However, we haven’t done a lot of god-slaying in the Dishonored series.
Set after the events of Dishonored 2, Death of the Outsider casts us as Meagan Foster, aka Billie Lurk. You should remember her as the captain of the Dreadful Wale, and Daud’s former apprentice.
Armed with new prosthetic limb and eye, Billie takes one last contract for the “ultimate assassination” – killing “the black-eyed bastard himself”. We call him the Outsider.
As we can see in the first gameplay trailer, Meagan has access to all new powers and weapons. She can use them to either kill her way through a level, or choose a less lethal way to deal with her enemy. Though, after watching the trailer, it’s hard to imagine Meagan as anything but a merciless killing machine.
We also learn that Rosario Dawson, Michael Madsen and Robin Lord Taylor will return to voice Michael Billie, Daud and the Outsider, respectively.
Dishonored: Death of the Outsider releases on September 15, on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
