Betehsda has closed its short E3 2017 presentation with the reveal of Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. The reveal trailer above, in the words of Bethesda’s VP of PR and Marketing Pete Hines, is “fucking bananas”.

Wolfenstein 2 picks up after the ending of The New Order. I won’t spoil it, but you can guess something no so pleasant happened to Blazkowicz given the state he is in in the trailer. While we have to wait from the very end of the trailer for see a minute of two of over-the-top action, everything prior to that tells us a lot about the story.

The Nazis still control the USA, but a resistance movement is slowly growing across the nation. Blazkowicz re-teams with Anya, who is now pregnant with twins, and they set out to recruit a multicultural team to fight off the Nazis and the KKK. How very on-the-nose.

We’ll meet a lot of new faces along the way, but also familiar ones, like the unforgettable mug of Frau Engel. I don’t recognize anyone else, but it’s been some time since I played the game, and the young man dropping acid at the end of the trailer does look a little familiar. I could be Wyatt, which means I probably won’t see him since I choose to save Fergus.

The fighting will occur in places like Roswell, the flooded streets of New Orleans, and a post-nuclear Manhattan – all of which sound like prime vacation spots in Nazi America. There are also quite a lot of new guns in the trailer, including the Laserkraftwerk that can melt walls (and faces), and the Dieselkraftwerk – a rapid-fire, gas-powered grenade launcher.

You’ll be able to kill every Nazi in your way and spark the second American Revolution on October 27, when Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus comes out on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
