Agents of Mayhem, the next game from the creators of Saints Row, will be released this August. The sentence “from the creators of Saints Row” pretty much gives away what kind of game Agents of Mayhem will be, but watch the trailer above just to be sure.

In this open-world, third-person action game, you will control a team of three unstable misfits armed to the teeth, roaming the streets of Seoul, South Korea. You’ll be able to switch between agents on the fly and utilize their distinct weapons, and skillset. Or you can just pick the ones that have the same sense of humor you do, and look the most badass.

There are a total of 12 characters, with some of them being Daisy, a foul-mouthed derby girl with a mini-gun; Rama, an immunologist with a futuristic bow and energy arrows; and Red Card, a psychotic football hooligan with a temper that can literally clear a crowd. Other characters range from TV star Hollywood to the world famous sky pirate Fortune.

If you’re wondering why these dangerous individuals are causing havoc around Seoul, its because they are fighting the shadowy supervillain organisation LEGION. Run by the mysterious Dr Babylon, LEGION rose to power after the events of Devil’s Night, which I’m guessing is something we’ll learn more about later.

An ex-LEGION lieutenant by the name of Persephone Brimstone has assembled the Agents of Mayhem in order to fight the LEGION’s oppression. We know the game takes place within the same universe as the Saints Row series, since Ultor is footing the bill for this mayhem.

Agents of Mayhem is coming on to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on August 15 in the US, and August 18 in Europe. Below you’ll find a few screenshots of the various agents, who are definitely upstanding citizens and role models.
