Middle-earth: Shadow of War is the upcoming sequel to Shadow of Mordor, according to a recent leak. The game was accidentally posted on the site of US retailer Target, which shared quite a bit of information about it.
In Shadow of War, you will “go behind enemy lines to forge your army, conquer Fortresses and dominate Mordor from within. Experience how the award winning Nemesis System creates unique personal stories with every enemy and follower, and confront the full power of the Dark Lord Sauron and his Ringwraiths in this epic new story of Middle-earth.”
Confronting Sauron and his Ringwraiths sounds promising, mainly because it means Talion and Celebrimbor will face enemies other than orcs or uruk-hai.
The Middle-earth: Shadow of War Gold Edition was also leaked. This special edition will include two Nemesis Expansions, each with a new orc tribe, new missions, gear and more. There will also be two Story Expansions with new campaigns, playable characters, abilities and even more enemies.
The Gold Edition will go for $100, while the standard edition is priced at $60.
According to Target, Shadow of War is scheduled for release on August 22, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There’s no mention of a PC version, but considering the previous game came out on PC, we’re willing to bet there’s going to be one.
