BioWare has launch a new Mass Effect Andromeda gameplay video series, with the first video focusing on the game’s combat. It covers a lot of the basics, including the different types of weapons, jump-jet, cover system, skill trees and character progression.
The biggest additions to the series’ combat system is the jump-jet and the dynamic cover system. The jet lets you jump higher, dodge quickly in every direction, and even hover in mid-air during combat. If you find enemy resistance a bit overwhelming, you can take cover behind pretty much anything, including your vehicle.
In Mass Effect Andromeda, every category of weapon is open to all players, since there aren’t really classes in the game, as we suspected when we first saw the game in action. Skills are also available for all, and you can upgrade your combat, tech and biotic skills as you see fit, and create your own play style.
This is the first video in the series, so we can expect at least a couple more. The next one will deal with profiles, favorite weapons and skills sets, and squad commands. Be sure to keep an eye out for it in the coming days and weeks.
Mass Effect Andromeda is out March 21 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
