Prey, the new title from Dishonored developers Arkane Studio, has an official release date. The game will be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Friday, May 5, 2017.
Just to put what you just saw in the gameplay trailer in context: In Prey, you play as either a male or a female Morgan Yu, a test subject on board the space station Talos I. As these things often do, the experiments go terribly wrong, and the space station is overrun by the hostile Typhon aliens.
You’ll use advance weapons, and abilities you steal from the aliens themselves, to dig into the dark secrets of Talos I and your own past and generally not die.
Gamers who choose to pre-order the game should now that by doing so they’ll gain access to the exclusive Cosmonaut Shotgun Pack. This pack contains fabrication plans for the Margrave shotgun, Morgan Yu’s family heirloom.
There are also three Neuromods players can spend to acquire new abilities, two Medkits, a starter kit for building tools and weapons, and the Recycler Shielding chipset – a unique upgrade to help players preserve their limited resources.
Whether you pre-order it or not, you’ll be able to play Prey on PC, PS4 and Xbox One come May 5.
