Warner Bros. has released a new cinematic trailer for Injustice 2. The trailer does reveal a little bit more about the game’s overall story, but I think it’s way more interesting to talk about the new characters it shows, and those it hints at.
First, we see some characters we already new are a part of Injustice 2, like Supergirl, Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman and Harley Quinn. Then we catch a glimpse of Damian Wayne dressed as Robin – the line “offspring turns into adversary” pretty much gives Robin’s identity away.
While technically Damian Wayne isn’t a new character, as he was the Regime Nightwing in Injustice: Gods Among Us, the trailer also shows two completely new characters – Bane and Poison Ivy. We Only see them for a second, but there’s no mistaking them for anyone else. The both are almost certain to be playable characters in Injustice 2.
The final big reveal is the game’s main villain – the one who’s narrating the whole trailer. He is none other than Brainiac, the intergalactic know-it-all.
At the very end, another character is revealed, this time as a pre-order bonus. If you indeed choose to pre-order the game, you’ll get access to Darkseid, the rule of planet Apokolips. At the moment it’s unclear whether Darkseid will be available later as a DLc character or not.
Injustice 2 will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One come May 16.
