Gamers who still haven’t made the move to new generation consoles might be sadden to know that the third season of The Walking Dead will skip PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. However, there’s still hope.
If you decide to continue playing the series on the new platform, Telltale Games has provided you with a way to import your save files. Kinda. Well, there are two ways you can do that, actually.
The first is to upload your The Walking Dead Season 2 save files from your cold console to your Telltale account. To do this, you’ll need a Telltale account (naturally) and to download the game’s latest patch. Once you do that, you’ll have a new option to upload your save files in the game’s menu. If you don’t have a Telltale account, you can open one through the official site.
Once you finished uploading your save files, go over to The Walking Dead – a New Frontier save hub, find the file you just uploaded and click “Use Save”. You should be good to go.
If you can’t or don’t want to upload your save files for any reason, don’t worry – there is another way.
When starting up your copy of The Walking Dead Season 3, just go over to the “Episodes” menu and select “Continue Your Story”. Then, you have to choose “Recreate”. This will send you to Telltale’s “A New Frontier” Story Generator, where you can go through all the important decisions of the last two seasons and make your own new story.
That’s it. Sounds relatively simple. We’ll test both these options when The Walking Dead – A New Frontier is released December 20 on new generation consoles, PC and mobile devices.
