Devolver Digital has just announced they will be publishing My Friend Pedro: Blood Bullets Bananas. It is a 2D “violet ballet” inspired by the Bullet Time mechanic made popular by Max Payne.
For those of you who don’t have a first named Pedro who happens to be a talking banana, there’s a gameplay teaser above that should simulate what it would be like. There’s also a much longer gameplay demonstration below, with even more talking bananas and bullets.
My Friend Pedro: Blood Bullets Bananas is actually a sequel. The original My Friend Pedro is still available for free on Adult Swim, so if you want to experience the basic gameplay mechanic of shooting people with lots of bullets while pirouetting through the air – go and give it a try. I already did, and it was really, really fun.
There’s currently no release date for My Friend Pedro, but we should get one soon.
