Bethesda will be releasing a free patch for Dishonored 2 that will add a New Game+ mode, as well as “new custom difficulty settings”. The publisher did not provide any further details about this upcoming patch, apart from the fact it will be released next month.

This short announcement came with a new video for Dishonored 2, titled “Play Your Way“, which is basically members of the development team talking about the different ways to can approach any challenge in the game. It’s pretty similar to the degree of freedom we had in the original Dishonored, only now we also have the option to refuse The Outsider’s help and give up on his special powers.

“We are confident that our core gameplay is interesting enough, and we are confident that the player who makes that choice wants that kind of experience,” lead designer Dinga Bakaba said about this intriguing option. “He wants to be a human being among human beings, and feel like he’s the best. He wants to be Batman and not Superman.”

While console gamers are already playing their way, their PC comrades are still waiting for an official patch to fix some of the technical issues the game is suffering from. There’s already a performance patch currently in beta that works for some players, and Bethesda has promised another one next week that should “address a broader range of issues.” Let’s hope for the best.

Dishonored 2 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
