After being denied his award at for Metal Gear Soild V: The Phantom Pain at The Game Awards 2015, Hideo Kojima will finally be honored at this year’s Game Awards ceremony.
Gaming journalist and the host of the annual event, Geoff Keighley, has revealed on his twitter account that The Game Awards are excited to give the legendary creator the Industry Icon award at the upcoming ceremony. After last year’s widely publicized break up between Kojima and Konami, the publisher forbade Kojima from accepting the Game Award for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.
Since his departure from Konami, Kojima has been hard at work developing his new title Death Stranding, which premiered at this year’s E3. It is currently unclear whether any new footage will debut during the show, but it goes without saying that the gaming community is excited for whatever the famed developer has in store.
Hideo Kojima will receive his new and improved award when the Game Awards 2016 will be broadcast live on December 1.
