Ubisfot might be working on a new sci-fi title, and it chose to “leak” the teaser trailer for the title through Watch Dogs 2. Whether this is an actual teaser for an actual game still remains to be seen.
This trailer comes from YouTuber FlammableAce, who posted it on NeoGAF. The trailer can be found in Watch Dogs 2 after hacking into an in-game Ubisoft building as part of a hidden side mission. According to FlammableAce, this side mission opened up after he overheard a Ubisoft employee talking on the phone about Assassins Creed Syndicate, Unity and “Osiris” leaks.
As for the trailer itself – there isn’t much information to work with. It takes place entirely in space, and features background music taken straight out of a western. The space western genre is responsible for quite a few successful franchises, such as Firefly, Cowboy Bebop and Borderlands, so maybe Ubisoft is hoping to join in on the fun.
On the other hand, this could just be Ubisoft trolling gamers with a teaser video made specifically for Watch Dogs 2. If the video’s title is anything to go by, we’ll know for sure no later than E3 2017.
