The latest Pokemon Sun and Moon trailer has revealed, amongst other things, the final evolutions of the starter Pokemon Litten, Rowlet and Popplio. The secondary evolutions were already revealed a few weeks ago in a previous trailer, but the final evolutions have been hotly contested for a while since a leak surfaced, revealing concept art. That leak is now being proved correct with the video above.

First up, we meet Rowlet’s final evolution, Decidueye. Despite the initial Grass/Flying typing that Dartrix possessed, Decidueye is now Grass/Ghost, also possessing the unique move Spirit Shackle. The site also tells us that “Decidueye usually acts very cool, but it can become terribly flustered in unexpected situations like a surprise attack. A skilled Decidueye can boast acrobatic curved shots. It seems some are also able to shoot arrows that reach up through the sky, only to come drilling down from above, piercing multiple targets one after another.”

Next it’s Litten’s final evolution – and it’s not a Fire/Fighting type! Incineroar is a fearsome Fire/Dark type packing the move Darkest Lariat. The official site explains that “In the heat of battle, Incineroar shows no concern for its opponents—and sometimes even launches attacks that strike the opposing Trainer! As a result, many tend to dislike this Pokémon and keep it at a distance. If a crowd watching it battle is pumped up, Incineroar’s fighting spirit will burn brighter. But a lackluster crowd can make it lose focus or fight shoddily.”

Finally, Popplio’s final evolution, the beautiful Primarina was revealed. Primarina is a Water/Fairy type with the move Sparkling Aria to use. The site reveals more info, saying that “Among the balloons that Primarina releases, some explode when touched, while others do not. Primarina jump on the non~exploding balloons while they make sport of their opponents, and they use the exploding variety to trigger chained explosions! Primarina’s songs have many variations, and each one changes the motions of the balloons. It has been observed that songs are shared among Primarina living together, so different colonies end up knowing different songs.”

However, that was only the first part of the trailer. Next, we finally got to see more of the Alola region’s guardians. We’d previously seen Tapu Koko, the Electric/Fairy type and guardian of Melemele Island. Turns out every island has a guardian, and the video shows us the rest of them. First up is the Psychic/Fairy type, Tapu Lele, who is the guardian of Akala Island. Next, we’re greeted by Tapu Bulu, the Grass/Fairy type who is the guardian of Ula’ula Island. Lastly, the fourth guardian, who watches over Poni Island, is Tapu Fini, who is a Water/Fairy type.

The Tapu guardians are also revealed to have a Z-Move they can use: the terrifying Guardian of Alola, which does massive damage if the trailer is anything to go by. Next, two new Pokemon are revealed: the tiny and adorable Psychic-type Cosmog, and the Dark-type evolution of Alolan Meowth, Alolan Persian.

But that’s not all; the last thing the trailer shows is the creation of the Alola League, as well as the Battle Tree. Champions of Alola may take on the fearsome Battle Tree, where we see a troupe of returning trainers, such as fan favourite champion of Sinnoh, Cynthia and Wally from Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. It seems trainers can either fight against these opponents or work with them to succeed. Finally, the last two trainers to be shown off are possibly the most interesting of all: the legendary Pokemon champions Blue and Red. If the trailer is correct, it seems these trainers will be using their original teams – Blue’s from Red and Blue, and Red’s from Gold and Silver. Although they may be using some Alolan forms of their old teammates now.

Overall, a jam-packed trailer revealing a lot of exciting new info, and if you weren’t excited for Sun and Moon before, you should be by now.
