Nintendo has revealed Switch a couple of hours ago, but didn’t provide us with any real information regarding the tech behind the new console. Fortunately, Nvidia decided to step up and clear some of the doubts and rumors surrounding the technological capabilities of the Switch.
According to the hardware company, Nintendo Switch is powered by a custom Tegra processor. “The high-efficiency scalable processor includes an NVIDIA GPU based on the same architecture as the world’s top-performing GeForce gaming graphics cards,” the company boasts.
In addition to the power that comes with the new Tegra GPU, the Nintendo Switch also sports a fully custom software, including a revamped physics engine, new libraries, and “advanced game tools”.Nvidia also creatednew APIs for performance sake. Other enhances include accelerated video playback and custom software for audio effects and rendering.
With the Tegra GPU and Nvidia’s ” gaming technology”, the Nintendo Switch aims to deliver a great experience for gamers who want a portable home console.
