After teasing its existence for the last couple of days, Rockstar has officially announced Red Dead Redemption 2 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As of now, the game is scheduled for Fall 2017.

According to the game’s short description, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an “epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland.” We also know it will feature a big open world and “a brand new online multiplayer experience.” Could this new multiplayer mode be anything like GTA Online?

The debut trailer of Red Dead Redemption 2 will air on October 20, 11am Eastern.

This is all the information we have to work with right now. Rockstar has yet to confirm or deny the rumor RDR2 is actually a prequel, so all we are left with are speculations. The announcement poster above give us plenty to speculate on, like who are those seven gruff men and how to they all tie into the story? Are there several playable characters, like in GTA V? Where have all the women gone to?

Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released in Fall 2017, on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There’s no mention of a PC version as of now, but then again, the original RDR never made it to PC as well…
