Messhof has announced it is working of Nidhogg 2, the sequel to the hit indie title – Nidhogg. We have a short announcement trailer and a few screenshots to gawk at, and boy are they a sight.
It’s immediately obvious Nidhogg 2 looks somewhat different from its predecessor. Though the core gameplay appears to be unchanged, the game sports a completely overhauled visual design that improves on the environment and character animation. Personally, the new character design makes me think of muppets made of ground meat…
Fans can expect Nidhogg 2 to have over 10 new levels, local and online multiplayer, a single-player option where you fight against AI bots, and the return of tournament mode. They will be able to sample all of those new feature if they attend the Indie District at TwitchCon between September 30 and October 2.
Those of you that can’t reach San Diego in time will be able to watch the game being demoed live through the TwitchCon Twitch channel on October 1, 5:15pm PT.
Nidhogg 2 will arrive on PC and “maybe some other platforms” in 2017.
