Yooka-Laylee, the spiritual successor of the cult classic Banjo-Kazooie, has a new trailer featuring the colorful cast of characters, including a guest appearance by an indie darling.

The new trailer focuses entirely on the unique and interesting characters that inhabit the world of the game. Team17 and Playtonic Games have took this opportunity to reveal they are working toggether with Yacht Club Games in order to bring the heroic Shovel Knight for a special cameo.

The other main characters we are introduced to are Capital B, a “bizzness” man running the nofarious scheme of absorbing all of the world’s books; Dr. Quack, Capital B’s partner in crime, is the evil brains behind the operation who creates no-less-evil inventions; Trowzer, a serpent salesman who will help the heroic duo for the right price; and Dr Puzz, a scientist that uses her D.N.Ray to transform Yooka and Laylee into all sorts of crazy critters and help them on their adventure. There are plenty more characters to meet, and they all appear in the trailer above.

Yooka-Laylee is developed by former Rare employees that banded together to form PlayTonic Games. After raising more than 2 million British pound, on Kickstarter, the game is now set for release on PC, Linux, Mac, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U, in Q1 2017.
