Paper Mario: Color Splash looks so pretty in its latest trailer, with its bright colors, HD graphics and unique design. But visuals aside, the video provides with plenty of information on the gameplay.

Fans of the series won’t exactly be surprised by how the game plays, but we do get to see a few new mechanics. For example, the Wii U gamepad can be used to cut out certain segments of the world to open new paths, and battle cards can be painted for extra power.

There’s also a level that looks straight out of Super Mario Bros. 3 for some reason. Fans will find out what that’s all about when Paper Mario: Color Splash release on Wii U, on October 7.
