The Last Guardian, the long-anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusive, is getting one last delay. According to a blog post by Shuhei Yoshida, the game is now set to launch on December 6.
Apparently, the developers at genDESIGN and JAPAN Studio need more time to squash some bugs in the final stages of the development cycle.
“Fumito Ueda, gen DESIGN and JAPAN Studio have a wonderful vision for The Last Guardian’s touching, emotional journey of friendship and trust, and we want to deliver the most polished experience possible for our fans who have supported us for so long,” Yoshida writes.
“A delay is a difficult decision, particularly with this game, but we have encountered more bugs than anticipated while in the final stages of development. To ensure that The Last Guardian delivers on the experience that the game’s creators have envisioned, we need to take the extra time to work on those issues.”
Sony’s president continues to promise that the game’s development is still in full force, and that more content will be revealed before its launch.
Since it began development in 2007, The Last Guardian has completely disappeared off the radar up until 2016, when it was revealed as a PlayStation 4 exclusive which was going to come out October 25. Now, gamers will have to wait a couple more months, until December 6.
