The official Battlefield 1 Twitter account has revealed that the open beta for the upcoming shooter will not require PlayStation 4 gamers to have a PlayStation Plus subscription in order to play.

Twitter user Kevin Lantigua reached out to the developers through his social media account to see if there was an answer to his dilemma. A representative was then quickly able to confirm that Sony gamers who received the beta invitation will not need to purchase the online subscription service.
The upcoming beta for Battlefield 1 will also be available for PC and Xbox One, however there is still no word as to whether Microsoft gamers can play without an Xbox Live Gold account. The main title will still require a full subscription for either home console in order to access the online multiplayer.
EA and DICE’s WW1 shooter, Battlefield 1, will be available on October 21, for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.Some of our posts include links to online retail stores. We get a small cut if you buy something through one of our links. Don't worry, it doesn't cost you anything extra.
