The ESRB rating board has accidentally leaked the official rating, weapons, location and small story details for Capcom’s upcoming title, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Some minor spoiler may follow.

Capcom has no plans of letting up on the blood and gore for their upcoming first-person horror title, Resident Evil 7. According to the official “M” rating from the ESRB, RE7 will feature blood, gore, intense violence and strong language.Players were teased earlier this summer to the overall atmosphere of the claustrophobic title, but the full breakdown warns that what players experienced doesn’t even scratch the surface.

As the ESRB describes the experience, RE7 is “a survival-horror game in which players assume the role of Ethan, a man searching for his missing wife in a derelict mansion. From a first-person perspective, players explore the environment and use pistols, shotguns, flamethrowers, explosives and chainsaws to kill mutant creatures. Combat is accompanied by realistic gunfire, screams of pain, and exaggerated blood-splatter effects. As players progress through the story, cutscenes can depict instances of gore and intense acts of violence: a character’s arm dismembered by a chainsaw; a man’s leg taken off at the knee with a shovel; a character impaled through the face with a shovel. Some areas also depict mutilated corpses with exposed organs/viscera. The words “f**k” and “sh*t” are heard in the dialogue.”

Although light on story details, the breakdown mentions the inclusion of horrifying moments, gloriously gratuitous gore, and of course – flamethrowers. The only major spoilers being that one (or several) of the main characters are not going leave this haunted mansion completely intact, or at all for that matter.

It is highly irregular for an organization such as the ESRB would make such a revealing mistake. However, with many months to go before the actual release, some minor tweaks can still be made to keep the game a little fresh, so even if everything in the breakdown is correct, Capcom could still resubmit the title for an updated rating.

In the meantime, players can find out when Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is released on January 24, for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
