Get Even, the surrealist first-person thriller by The Farm 51, has recently resurfaced with a bizarre new trailer. Now, about a week later, we get to see actual gameplay footage for the first time, and for some reason it feels… off…

I felt kind of uncomfortable watching the 5-minute long video, and not for the right reasons. I don’t know if it was the terrible voice acting, the way protagonist Cole Black keeps asking “what is going on” every few minutes, or the NPCs complete lack of Spatial awareness that made me cringe the most, but I was doing a lot of that.

If you ignore the trailer’s poor production quality, or the part where we see Cole opening the same door over and over for 30 seconds, you can actually learn a little about the game’s story and settings. It seems like Cole is going in and out between our reality in a virtual one. You can tell by the way some enemies actually fall down and die when you shoot them, while other explode into digital blue clouds.

Anyways, you can watch the gameplay video above and judge it for yourselves. Get Even is currently scheduled for a spring 2017 release, on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
